FAQ
One of my toes is smaller than the others
This is generally due to a brachymetatarsia  or congenital shortening of one or more metatarsals. This abnormality causes the neighbouring toes to mount on top of the shorter toe. This can be corrected by lengthening the metatarsals which makes the toe regain its length.

My toes have corns on them and are contracted
This toe deformity is called hammertoe and is caused by the lack of muscular balance of the muscles which move the toes. Narrow shoes can influence in the increase of this deformity. Surgical treatment for this condition is done by changing the muscular functionality to balance it without the need of removing any part of the bone.

My foot is very wide. Can it be narrowed?
Narrowing of the foot can be achieved by correctly aligning the 1st and 5th metatarsal. With this type of foot, these bones are generally not aligned with the central metatarsals. By adjusting them correctly we can achieve a narrower and more aesthetic looking foot.

Can my toes be shortened?
Yes, toes can be shortened to give them a more harmonious length. Surgical treatment can be done on all toes although it is more frequently carried out on the big toe and 2nd and 3rd toes. Once the toes are shortened the foot looks normal with all toes properly aligned.

I have corns on the soles of my feet
This is due to incorrect distribution of the body’s weight on the feet.  The most frequent factors causing this are a shortened calf or the lack of stability of some joints. Corns will disappear on correcting these factors.

I have the 5th toe overlapping the 4th. Can it be corrected?
This  congenital deformity gives an abnormal aspect to the foot and causes  pain and the inability to use normal shoes or sandals. Tendons , bones and skin are involved in its development and for this in its treatment these elements should be addressed. This treatments should be followed to obtain maximun long-term results.
